I am sharing my Manaslu Circuit Trek Diary in today's blog post. Last year on October 2025, I went to the Manaslu Circuit Trek journey for the first time with my friends. It was so eventful. The journey changed my perspective of mountains and rural Nepal. Now, I can say clearly why the trail is getting lots of attention and popularity from people across the globe. Natural beauty and cultural heritages including raw thrills of the trail can make your walking vacation worth every penny spent for this. Me and my friends visited the trail with the Roving Nepal Trek. Huge thanks and appreciation goes to the company for making the trip a success and helping us to experience such a marvelous trek.
I have written this Manaslu Circuit Trek Diary citing major events and major days!
The journey started early this morning from the chaotic, bustling streets of Kathmandu. Heading out toward Maccha Khola, the road trip was an adventure in itself. Everything went smoothly until we hit the Aarughat to Maccha Khola section.
Let me tell you, that stretch kept my heart in my throat! The road gets pretty bumpy in places, hugging sheer cliffs right above the roaring, churning waters of the Budhi Gandaki River. Looking out the window, the drop was intimidating, but looking back, it was completely safe—just an absolute thrill to kick off the trip. We finally rolled into Maccha Khola tired, dusty, and buzzing with excitement for what lay ahead.

Every single day on this trail feels completely different from the last. One morning you’re weaving through sub-tropical forests alongside turquoise river canyons, and the next you're gazing up at towering pine trees and stone-carved mani walls.
Crossing the suspension bridges has easily become one of my favorite parts of the trek. Swaying high above deep gorges with prayer flags fluttering in the wind is pure magic. Today, we also visited some local monasteries. They are unimaginably majestic, sitting quietly against the backdrop of snow-capped giants. The spiritual energy in those ancient halls is heavy, peaceful, and unforgettable.

Today was brutal. Hiking up to Manaslu Base Camp tested every ounce of physical and mental strength I had. The thin air at higher altitudes makes every breath feel like a chore, and the steep, rocky climb seemed endless.
My legs were burning, and there were moments I wanted to stop and turn around. But pressing through that discomfort and finally standing near the base of the mighty Mount Manaslu—surrounded by blinding white ice and sheer rock walls—made every single drop of sweat entirely worth it. It’s a humbling feeling standing beneath an 8,000-meter peak.

This was the day of reckoning: crossing the Larkya La Pass at 5,106 meters. We started hiking long before sunrise in the freezing dark. The cold bit right through my layers, and the altitude made the ascent feel agonizingly slow.
Crossing the pass was the hardest physical challenge of my life. Every step felt heavy, but when the sun finally crested the horizon, turning the jagged Himalayan peaks into gold, the fatigue melted away into sheer awe. Standing at the top of Larkya La, looking out over a sea of white summits, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Descending safely afterward felt like walking on cloud nine.
As this journey comes to a close, my heart is full. The Manaslu region is breathtakingly, wildly beautiful, but what truly made this trek special were the mountains and the people. The locals welcomed us into their teahouses with warm smiles, hot cups of tea, and incredible hospitality.
Looking back at my muddy boots, sore muscles, and camera roll full of memories, I can honestly say this was the best time of my life. If you're on the fence about doing the Manaslu Circuit, pack your bags and go. The mountains are waiting!
