The trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small mountain airstrip situated at an altitude of 2,860 meters. From Lukla, you embark on a trek towards Phakding, a charming village located at an altitude of 2,652 meters. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, meandering through rhododendron and pine forests, and passing through traditional Sherpa settlements.
Continuing, you reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling market town and cultural hub of the Everest region. Here, you take a rest day for acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude. You have the option to explore the surrounding area, visit the Everest View Hotel, or hike to Khumjung village to witness the local way of life.
Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trek takes you to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. This serene village offers panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. From Tengboche, you continue the journey towards Dingboche and ascend the challenging Kongma La Pass (5,535m). This pass rewards you with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.
After crossing Kongma La Pass, you trek to Lobuche and then continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Standing at the foot of Everest, you experience the awe-inspiring surroundings and the bustling activity of climbers preparing for their ascent. Leaving the Gokyo Valley, you cross the final pass, Renjo La Pass (5,340m), which presents another thrilling challenge.
