Trekking to Everest Base Camp is much more than reaching a destination—it's about experiencing the culture, landscapes, and spirit of the Khumbu region. Bashu's extensive local knowledge and years of guiding experience make the journey safer, more enjoyable, and more meaningful.
Highlights include:
Your adventure begins in Kathmandu before taking one of the world's most spectacular mountain flights to Lukla. As soon as you land, the excitement truly begins.
The trail passes through charming villages, suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags, ancient monasteries, dense rhododendron forests, and glacial valleys. Every day offers stunning views of iconic Himalayan peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many more.
The gradual ascent allows trekkers to fully appreciate the dramatic changes in landscape as the lush green forests transform into rugged alpine terrain.
Altitude is one of the biggest challenges on the Everest Base Camp Trek. That's why this 14-day itinerary includes carefully scheduled acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.
These rest days are not simply breaks—they include short hikes to higher elevations before returning to sleep at lower altitude. This proven approach helps your body adjust naturally while reducing the risk of altitude sickness.
With Bashu's guidance and close monitoring, trekkers receive valuable advice on hydration, pacing, nutrition, and recognizing early symptoms of altitude-related illness.
The Everest region is home to the legendary Sherpa community, renowned worldwide for their mountaineering skills, warm hospitality, and rich Buddhist traditions.
Throughout the trek, you'll have opportunities to:
Namche Bazaar serves as the cultural and commercial hub of the Khumbu region. Here, trekkers can explore local markets, bakeries, museums, cafés, and enjoy spectacular mountain views.
Reaching Everest Base Camp is an emotional and unforgettable achievement.
Standing at 5,364 meters surrounded by towering Himalayan giants is an experience few adventures can match. During the climbing season, colorful expedition tents create an exciting atmosphere as mountaineers prepare for their summit attempts.
Although Everest itself is not visible directly from Base Camp, the surrounding glaciers, icefalls, and dramatic peaks create one of the most extraordinary alpine landscapes on Earth.
Capturing photos at the famous Everest Base Camp sign marks the successful completion of a lifelong dream for countless trekkers.
For many trekkers, Kala Patthar becomes the true highlight of the journey.
The early morning climb rewards visitors with one of the finest panoramic views in the Himalayas. As the first sunlight illuminates Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Lhotse, and the Khumbu Glacier, the scenery becomes simply unforgettable.
This viewpoint offers the closest and clearest view of Everest available without climbing the mountain itself.
The breathtaking sunrise alone makes the challenging ascent worthwhile.
One of the best aspects of trekking in the Everest region is the well-developed network of traditional teahouses.
During the trek, you'll stay in comfortable mountain lodges operated by local families. Rooms are simple, clean, and welcoming, providing a warm place to rest after each day's hike.
Meals typically include:
These nutritious meals help replenish energy while allowing trekkers to experience authentic Himalayan cuisine.
The EBC Trek with Bashu is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and determination.

Before booking the EBC Trek with Bashu 14 Days, please read the following important information to ensure a safe and enjoyable trekking experience.
Flight Information
Flights to and from Lukla are highly weather-dependent. Delays or cancellations may occur due to changing mountain weather conditions. We recommend keeping at least one or two extra buffer days in your travel schedule before your international departure.
Physical Fitness
This trek is suitable for individuals with a good level of physical fitness. Although no technical climbing skills are required, you should be prepared to walk for 5–8 hours daily over varied terrain and at high altitude.
Altitude Sickness
The highest overnight stay and trekking elevations exceed 5,000 meters, where altitude sickness is a possibility. Our itinerary includes proper acclimatization days to help minimize the risk. It is essential to walk at a steady pace, stay hydrated, and immediately inform your guide if you experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, or shortness of breath.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for this trek. Your policy should cover high-altitude trekking (up to 6,000 meters), emergency helicopter evacuation, medical treatment, trip cancellation, and personal belongings.
Passport and Visa
Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your arrival date in Nepal. Most travelers can obtain a Nepal tourist visa upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or apply in advance through a Nepalese embassy or consulate.
Weather Conditions
Mountain weather can change rapidly at any time of the year. Temperatures may vary significantly between daytime and nighttime. Please pack clothing suitable for both warm sunshine and freezing conditions.
Accommodation
Accommodation during the trek is provided in local teahouses. Rooms are generally twin-sharing with basic facilities. At higher elevations, accommodation becomes more limited, and shared bathrooms are common.
Meals During the Trek
Nutritious meals are available throughout the trek. Dal Bhat, noodles, rice, soups, potatoes, eggs, pasta, Tibetan bread, and hot beverages are commonly served. Drinking plenty of water is highly recommended during the trek.
Charging and Internet
Electricity and Wi-Fi are available in most villages but usually incur an additional charge. Connection speeds become slower at higher elevations. Carrying a power bank is strongly recommended.
Environmental Responsibility
Help preserve the beauty of the Everest region by carrying a reusable water bottle, avoiding single-use plastics, disposing of waste responsibly, and respecting local customs, wildlife, and religious sites.
Guide's Decision
Your guide's decisions regarding safety, weather, trail conditions, and altitude are final. In rare situations, the itinerary may be adjusted to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
The following tips will help you prepare for an unforgettable Everest Base Camp adventure.
Best Seasons
The most popular trekking seasons are March to May and September to November, when the weather is generally stable, skies are clear, and mountain views are spectacular.
Daily Walking Distance
Expect to walk approximately 10–15 kilometers (6–9 miles) each day, taking between 5 and 8 hours, depending on the trail and altitude.
Highest Elevation
Kala Patthar offers the best panoramic view of Mount Everest during the trek.
Mobile Network
Mobile coverage is available in many villages through local telecom providers, although service becomes less reliable at higher elevations.
Drinking Water
Filtered, boiled, and purified drinking water is available in most teahouses for a small fee. Bringing a reusable water bottle and water purification tablets or a filtration bottle is recommended.
ATM Availability
ATMs are available in Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar only. After leaving Namche, cash facilities are extremely limited. Carry enough Nepalese Rupees for personal expenses during the trek.
Electricity
Most teahouses provide charging facilities for phones, cameras, and other electronic devices. Charges increase at higher elevations, so a high-capacity power bank is useful.
Shower Facilities
Hot showers are available in many teahouses for an additional fee. Availability may be limited at higher elevations due to weather and water supply.
Porter Service
Hiring a porter allows you to enjoy the trek with a lighter backpack while also supporting the local economy. A porter typically carries luggage for two trekkers within the recommended weight limit.
Respect Local Culture
The Khumbu region is deeply rooted in Buddhist traditions. Dress modestly, ask permission before photographing local people, walk clockwise around stupas and mani walls, and respect monasteries and sacred sites.
Tipping
Tipping guides and porters is not compulsory but is greatly appreciated as recognition of their hard work and dedication throughout your trek.
Emergency Support
In the event of illness or injury, helicopter evacuation can be arranged if required and covered by your travel insurance. Your guide will coordinate emergency assistance when necessary.
Photography
The Everest region offers incredible opportunities for photography. Carry extra batteries and memory cards, as cold temperatures reduce battery life and charging options are limited at higher elevations.
Leave No Trace
Help protect the fragile Himalayan environment by minimizing waste, using refillable water bottles, avoiding littering, and respecting nature so future generations can enjoy the same breathtaking landscapes.
