It is easier said than done but
trekking at the Everest region is tough. When you are in your old age, things
get even more tough. But there are distinct ways formulated by Roving Nepal
Trek that could help you with coping the tough situations.
Some of the easier ways to do EBC Trek include:
The first day of the Everest Base
Camp Trek for seniors starts by landing in Kathmandu. You will be received at
the airport and taken to your respective hotels. The day is ended by taking a
rest.
Before heading directly to the
Everest region we will take a city tour for the day. This particular
sightseeing tour will focus on religious places along with UNESCO World
Heritage sites.
After 2 good days at the capital, we
will be heading towards Lukla. It will be a 35-minute flight with some of the
most beautiful mountains to view. Following Lukla we will be trekking to Phakding
and staying the night there.
As the early morning breakfast is
done, the Roving Nepal Trek team will guide you through the Dudh Koshi river
banks. A total distance of 12 km and 6 hours of trek will help you reach Namche
Bazaar. Namche is the trading spot for the traders between Nepal and Tibet. We
will end the day here.
As we are trekking with the seniors,
proper acclimatization is the key to achieving the goal. The 5th day is about
acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar. The Roving Nepal Trek team will visit the
Everest View Hotel and return to Namche with the trekkers. An early rest is
called for a better trekking day ahead.
You will get the most beautiful
views of Mount Everest when you walk through the uniform trails of Mount
Everest. As you descend into the deep valleys of Dudh Koshi the journey will
move towards Tengboche Monastery. Although the rise could be tough it
will take a maximum of 5 hours to complete the trek.
The journey descends through the
beautiful forest crossing the Imja River. The Roving Nepal Trek team will be
crossing through the village of Pangboche with critical views of Mt AmaDablam,
Lhotse, and other peaks. Touching the altitude of 4410m we will reach
Dingboche.
As there are plenty of senior
citizens during the trek it is important to have proper rest and
acclimatization. On the 8th day, we will be spending some major time at
Dingboche. Trekkers will visit the places around and understand the local community
and people.
We will only be trekking for 6 km
today as there are steep climbs during the journey to Thukla. Passing through a
natural dam, crystal blue glacier lake we reach a river which allows the
opportunity to reach Thukla.
Trekking every day during Everest
Base Camp senior trek will consist of an average of 5 hours. From Thukla the
journey moves towards Lobuche. A broad valley of Dughla takes you to Pheriche.
On this day you will find plenty of doctors along the journey. After ascending
and crossing the valley you reach Lobuche.
We will be touching to the 5000m
mark and things could get majorly interesting. On a normal trek, we will reach
EBC and return to Gorakshep but things are different. After 4 hours of
trekking, we reach Khumbu Glacier and later to Gorakshep. We take the night off
at Gorakshep and prepare for the big day.
Finally, the day has arrived when
the Roving Nepal Trek team will take the senior trekkers to EBC. You will be
stepping into Everest Base Camp. There isn't much elevation but the uneven
trails make things harder. A 3-hour hike will take you to EBC where you can
enjoy the majestic views.
Kalapatthar is the best spot to get
the most beautiful view of Mount Everest. The Roving Nepal Trek team along with
the trekkers will reach there early in the morning to see the sunrise. After
spending some time, we head to Gorakshep and later to Pheriche. The night will
be spent at Pheriche.
As the ascending was quicker the
descent was slower when we talked about Everest Base Camp. We will be
descending towards Phrotse from Pheriche. It is a decent uphill so the time
taken is 6 hours.
As we spend the night at Phortse,
the journey will move towards Namche today. It is a drop-down to an altitude of
3440m. Some steep climbs at Mong La Danda and Kyangjuma will make the journey
intriguing. Finally, we reach Namche through a gentle trail.
The day to leave the beauty of the
Everest region slowly comes back to the trekkers. We will take a slow walk to
Phakding from Namche Bazaar. It is a 5-hour drop down where we will be
descending towards Phakding.
Don't get confused as Roving Nepal
Trek tasks the journey slowly during the return. On the 17th day, we will get
to Lukla ready for the flight to Kathmandu. It will be a 3-hour trek that comes
along the Dudh Koshi River.
A beautiful and scenic flight from
Lukla will take you to Kathmandu. Although the flight could be scary it is
worth every minute. Following their arrival in Kathmandu, trekkers will spend
time at the hotels.
Roving Nepal Trek has separated a
day before you fly back to the home nation as recreation. Trekkers are
motivated to take the city tour, try the food, and interact with the local
people. A guide from Roving Nepal Trek will guide you through.
