From the hidden locations to secret trails, we try and provide trekkers with an option to enjoy the journey to the fullest. A total of 14 days will be spent with the team of Roving Nepal Trek and understanding the true essence of trekking. But before jumping right in, it is important to understand some hidden know-how of the lower Mustang trek.
A lot of the trekkers might be thinking that lower Mustang trek cost is lower compared to the Upper Mustang Trek. You might be right to some extent but the actual cost of the trek is hard to predict. As the time taken to complete the trek is similar in both cases, it is understandable that the cost might be on similar grounds. However, the tougher terrains in Lower Mustang Trek aren't much. Therefore the cost could be differentiating, to say the least. Along with this the quality of the food, services, and accommodation also affects the final cost. The best way to find out is connect with Roving Nepal Trek as we will help you with the cost and guide you forward.
No, the Lower Mustang Trek isn't hard at all. The maximum altitude we reach during the trek is 3800m which shouldn't be very hard at all. Meanwhile, some of the trekkers might feel slightly heavy-headed or also tired internally. All of this is a common factor. Anyone who has good physical fitness and can walk for 6 hours every day can do the trek. Lower Mustang trail isn't too bumpy and it is similar to a cakewalk. In case anyone feeling issues with the trekking will be handed well by the medical professional of Roving Nepal Trek. So there isn't much trekkers should be worried about at all.
Any trek you have been planning in the context of Nepal should be either in autumn or spring. During these seasons, the weather remains brilliant with clear skies. March to May are the months of spring while September to November are for autumn season. During the autumn season though, the festival vibe takes control and local people are even more welcoming. Warm days, cooler night, and slight haze during the trail, spring, and autumn provides brilliant opportunities for observation and mountain sighting.
Not all the guests will be interested in doing the Lower Mustang Trek. There might be some of the trekkers who would be interested in alternative treks. Don't worry we have some of the finest alternative treks which will help you explore the Mustang region and something more beautiful as well. Alternative trekking routes for Lower Mustang Trek include Upper Mustang Trek with Heli return, Mustang Tiji Festival Trek, and Upper Mustang Trek with drive back. You are free to choose any package as Roving Nepal Trek has all of them available.
The major understanding is the fact that you need to have permits if you have plans to trek in Nepal. Concerning that Lower Mustang Trek also demands two of the major permits to complete the trek. The first one is the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit with the second one is the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card. Both of these can be easily gained from the Nepal Tourism Board. However, if you have plans to book a package with Roving Nepal Trek we take care of every permit that will be required without our guests worrying too much about it.
The first day of the Lower Mustang
Trek is all about arrival in Kathmandu. A valued member from Roving Nepal Trek
will receive all the guests at the airport. Later you will be dropped off at
your respective hotels.
The second day is all about the
Kathmandu Valley city tour. From UNESCO world heritage sites to various
religious places we will be making the tour. Meanwhile, any tourists willing to
make the last minute can also do it.
On the 3rd day of the tour, we will
have an early morning breakfast and take a bus ride to Pokhara. Crossing
through the rivers, hills, open fields, and beauty of the road we reach Pokhara
at the end of the day. Every tourist will be placed at their respective hotels.
As we spend the night in Pokhara,
the journey towards Mustang starts. An hour's drive early in the morning means
that we reach Nayapool and start the trek towards Tikhedhunga. Walking along
the paths of Modi Khola means that we reach Birethanti, Bhurungdi Khola, Hille,
and lastly Tikhedhunga. A 4 hours trek will mark the end of the day.
The last day of the 7-hour trek
starts from Kaligandaki Valley. Climbing towards subtropical vegetation, we
walk alongside the Kali Gandaki River. Crossing through the Dana we reach Rupse
waterfall which is very popular. As we cross our third suspension bridge of the
day, we reach the village of Ghasa.
Ghasa is the Thakali traditional
village where the Roving Nepal Trek team has spent the night. Passing through
suspension bridges and villages like Lete, Tatopani, and Kokhethati we get to
see Dhaulagiri on the west. Lastly, the sun sets for the day at Tukuche.
A lovely trekking day begins with an
early morning breakfast. Crossing through Khobang we see some of the beautiful
houses. Offering prayers at Kanti Gompa, the trail moves towards Marpha and at
the end of the time to Kagbeni.
It is a religious day as we trek
towards Muktinath. It is a 1000m ascend to reach an altitude of 3800m.
Muktinath is famous between Hindus and Buddhists. Walking through Khingar,
Jharkot we reach Muktinath. The night will be spent at the guesthouse.
All the trekkers of Roving Nepal
Trek will have religious fulfillment staying at Muktinath. Early on the 11th
morning, we make plans for the return. As the trekking team completes a 5-hour
trek we will reach Jomsom. We stayed the night there.
To save some time and effort, we
take the early morning flight to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara in 25 minutes
we will explore the city and spend the time in rest mode.
Completing the early morning
breakfast in Pokhara the team moves towards the capital. A private vehicle ride
will take you to Kathmandu. After 6 hours of ride, we will be at the
capital.
A beautiful journey of 13 days comes
to an end after we drop the team to the airport. All the international tourists
will be dropped off at the international terminal by a member of Roving Nepal
