Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

The first day of the Everest Base Camp Trek for seniors starts by landing in Kathmandu. You will be received at the airport and taken to your respective hotels. The day is ended by taking a rest.

Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour (Max Altitude: 1335m)

Before heading directly to the Everest region we will take a city tour for the day. This particular sightseeing tour will focus on religious places along with UNESCO World Heritage sites. 

Day 3 : Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (Max Altitude: 2860m) Duration: 3 hours

After 2 good days at the capital, we will be heading towards Lukla. It will be a 35-minute flight with some of the most beautiful mountains to view. Following Lukla we will be trekking to Phakding and staying the night there. 

Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (Max Altitude: 3440m) Duration: 6 hours

As the early morning breakfast is done, the Roving Nepal Trek team will guide you through the Dudh Koshi river banks. A total distance of 12 km and 6 hours of trek will help you reach Namche Bazaar. Namche is the trading spot for the traders between Nepal and Tibet. We will end the day here. 

Day 5 : Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar (Max Altitude: 3962m)

As we are trekking with the seniors, proper acclimatization is the key to achieving the goal. The 5th day is about acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar. The Roving Nepal Trek team will visit the Everest View Hotel and return to Namche with the trekkers. An early rest is called for a better trekking day ahead. 

Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche (Max Altitude: 3860m) Duration: 5 hours

You will get the most beautiful views of Mount Everest when you walk through the uniform trails of Mount Everest. As you descend into the deep valleys of Dudh Koshi the journey will move towards Tengboche Monastery.  Although the rise could be tough it will take a maximum of 5 hours to complete the trek.

Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche from Tengboche (Max Altitude: 4410m) Duration: 5 hours

The journey descends through the beautiful forest crossing the Imja River. The Roving Nepal Trek team will be crossing through the village of Pangboche with critical views of Mt AmaDablam, Lhotse, and other peaks. Touching the altitude of 4410m we will reach Dingboche. 

Day 8 : Acclimatization at Dingboche (Max Altitude: 4410m)

As there are plenty of senior citizens during the trek it is important to have proper rest and acclimatization. On the 8th day, we will be spending some major time at Dingboche. Trekkers will visit the places around and understand the local community and people.

Day 9 : Trek to Thukla from Dingboche (Max Altitude: 4620m) Duration: 3 hours

We will only be trekking for 6 km today as there are steep climbs during the journey to Thukla. Passing through a natural dam, crystal blue glacier lake we reach a river which allows the opportunity to reach Thukla. 

Day 10 : Trek to Lobuche from Thukla (Max Altitude: 4910m) Duration: 3 hours

Trekking every day during Everest Base Camp senior trek will consist of an average of 5 hours. From Thukla the journey moves towards Lobuche. A broad valley of Dughla takes you to Pheriche. On this day you will find plenty of doctors along the journey. After ascending and crossing the valley you reach Lobuche. 

Day 11 : Trek to Gorakshep from Lobuche (Max Altitude: 5164m) Duration: 4 hours

We will be touching to the 5000m mark and things could get majorly interesting. On a normal trek, we will reach EBC and return to Gorakshep but things are different. After 4 hours of trekking, we reach Khumbu Glacier and later to Gorakshep. We take the night off at Gorakshep and prepare for the big day.

Day 12 : Trek to EBC and return to Gorakshep (Max Altitude: 5364m) Duration: 8 hours

Finally, the day has arrived when the Roving Nepal Trek team will take the senior trekkers to EBC. You will be stepping into Everest Base Camp. There isn't much elevation but the uneven trails make things harder. A 3-hour hike will take you to EBC where you can enjoy the majestic views. 

Day 13 : : Hike to Kalapatthar and return to Pheriche (Max Altitude: 5545m) Duration: 7 hours

Kalapatthar is the best spot to get the most beautiful view of Mount Everest. The Roving Nepal Trek team along with the trekkers will reach there early in the morning to see the sunrise. After spending some time, we head to Gorakshep and later to Pheriche. The night will be spent at Pheriche. 

Day 14 : Trek to Phorste from Pheriche (Max Altitude: 3680m) Duration: 6 hours

As the ascending was quicker the descent was slower when we talked about Everest Base Camp. We will be descending towards Phrotse from Pheriche. It is a decent uphill so the time taken is 6 hours.

Day 15 : Trek to Namche from Phorste (Max Altitude: 3440m) Duration: 5 hours

As we spend the night at Phortse, the journey will move towards Namche today. It is a drop-down to an altitude of 3440m. Some steep climbs at Mong La Danda and Kyangjuma will make the journey intriguing. Finally, we reach Namche through a gentle trail.

Day 16 : Trek to Phakding from Namche ( Max Altitude: 2652m) Duration: 5 hours

The day to leave the beauty of the Everest region slowly comes back to the trekkers. We will take a slow walk to Phakding from Namche Bazaar. It is a 5-hour drop down where we will be descending towards Phakding. 

Day 17 : Trek to Lukla from Phakding (Max Altitude: 2860m) Duration: 3 hours

Don't get confused as Roving Nepal Trek tasks the journey slowly during the return. On the 17th day, we will get to Lukla ready for the flight to Kathmandu. It will be a 3-hour trek that comes along the Dudh Koshi River. 

Day 18 : Fly back to Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1335m) Duration: 35 minutes

A beautiful and scenic flight from Lukla will take you to Kathmandu. Although the flight could be scary it is worth every minute. Following their arrival in Kathmandu, trekkers will spend time at the hotels. 

Day 19 : Relaxing at Kathmandu

Roving Nepal Trek has separated a day before you fly back to the home nation as recreation. Trekkers are motivated to take the city tour, try the food, and interact with the local people. A guide from Roving Nepal Trek will guide you through. 

Day 20 : Departure to home country
