No, the Lower Mustang Trek isn't hard at all. The maximum altitude we reach during the trek is 3800m which shouldn't be very hard at all. Meanwhile, some of the trekkers might feel slightly heavy-headed or also tired internally. All of this is a common factor. Anyone who has good physical fitness and can walk for 6 hours every day can do the trek. Best Time To Do Lower Mustang Trek

Any trek you have been planning in the context of Nepal should be either in autumn or spring. During these seasons, the weather remains brilliant with clear skies. March to May are the months of spring while September to November are for autumn season. During the autumn season though, the festival vibe takes control and local people are even more welcoming. Warm days, cooler night, and slight haze during the trail, spring, and autumn provides brilliant opportunities for observation and mountain sighting.

Permits Required For Lower Mustang Trek

The major understanding is the fact that you need to have permits if you have plans to trek in Nepal. Concerning that Lower Mustang Trek also demands two of the major permits to complete the trek. The first one is the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit with the second one is the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) card. Both of these can be easily gained from the Nepal Tourism Board. Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350m)

The first day of the Lower Mustang Trek is all about arrival in Kathmandu. A valued member from Roving Nepal Trek will receive all the guests at the airport. Later you will be dropped off at your respective hotels. 

Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley City Tour

The second day is all about the Kathmandu Valley city tour. From UNESCO world heritage sites to various religious places we will be making the tour. Meanwhile, any tourists willing to make the last minute can also do it.

Day 3 : Drive to Pokhara (Max Altitude: 920m) Duration: 6 hours

On the 3rd day of the tour, we will have an early morning breakfast and take a bus ride to Pokhara. Crossing through the rivers, hills, open fields, and beauty of the road we reach Pokhara at the end of the day. Every tourist will be placed at their respective hotels.

Day 4 : Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (Max Altitude: 1570m) Duration: 4 hours

As we spend the night in Pokhara, the journey towards Mustang starts. An hour's drive early in the morning means that we reach Nayapool and start the trek towards Tikhedhunga. Walking along the paths of Modi Khola means that we reach Birethanti, Bhurungdi Khola, Hille, and lastly Tikhedhunga. A 4 hours trek will mark the end of the day. 

Day 5 : Trek to Ghorepani from Tikhedhunga (Max Altitude: 2850m) Duration: 7 hours


Day 6 : : Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani (Max Altitude: 3210m) Duration: 7 hours

To get the most beautiful views of sunrise we hike to Poonhill early in the morning. As we complete the sunrise view, the journey moves towards Tadapani. Mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Fishtail will guide us along the way as we rest for the day at Tadapani.

Day 7 : Trek to Ghasa from Tadapani (2120m) Duration: 7 hours

The last day of the 7-hour trek starts from Kaligandaki Valley. Climbing towards subtropical vegetation, we walk alongside the Kali Gandaki River. Crossing through the Dana we reach Rupse waterfall which is very popular. As we cross our third suspension bridge of the day, we reach the village of Ghasa. 

Day 8 : Trek to Tukuche from Ghasa (Max Altitude: 2560m) Duration: 5 hours

Ghasa is the Thakali traditional village where the Roving Nepal Trek team has spent the night. Passing through suspension bridges and villages like Lete, Tatopani, and Kokhethati we get to see Dhaulagiri on the west. Lastly, the sun sets for the day at Tukuche. 

Day 9 : Trek to Kagbeni from Tukuche (Max Altitude: 2800m) Duration: 5 hours

A lovely trekking day begins with an early morning breakfast. Crossing through Khobang we see some of the beautiful houses. Offering prayers at Kanti Gompa, the trail moves towards Marpha and at the end of the time to Kagbeni.

Day 10 : Trek to Muktinath from Kagbeni (Max Altitude: 3800m) Duration: 4 hours

It is a religious day as we trek towards Muktinath. It is a 1000m ascend to reach an altitude of 3800m. Muktinath is famous between Hindus and Buddhists. Walking through Khingar, Jharkot we reach Muktinath. The night will be spent at the guesthouse. 

Day 11 : Trek to Jomsom from Muktinath (Max Altitude: 2600m) Duration: 5 hours

All the trekkers of Roving Nepal Trek will have religious fulfillment staying at Muktinath. Early on the 11th morning, we make plans for the return. As the trekking team completes a 5-hour trek we will reach Jomsom. We stayed the night there. 

Day 12 : Morning flight to Pokhara (Max Altitude: 920m) Duration: 20 minutes

To save some time and effort, we take the early morning flight to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara in 25 minutes we will explore the city and spend the time in rest mode. 

Day 13 : Drive back to Kathmandu (Max Altitude: 1350m) Duration: 6 hours

Completing the early morning breakfast in Pokhara the team moves towards the capital. A private vehicle ride will take you to Kathmandu. After 6 hours of ride, we will be at the capital. 

Day 14 : Departure to home country

A beautiful journey of 13 days comes to an end after we drop the team to the airport. All the international tourists will be dropped off at the international terminal by a member of Roving Nepal Trek.
