Slow and steady you pass through places like Tak Shindo, Kharikhola, Paiya, and Surke finally reaching Phakding. After you reach Phakding it is the normal route that will be taken in respect to the Everest trek with the Lukla flight. From Namche Bazar to Tengboche later to Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and finally you reach the Everest Base Camp.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and settle down at the hotel

The first day of the Everest trek without Lukla flight begins by arriving at Kathmandu. Staffs from Roving Nepal Trek will be present at the airport to receive all of the guests.

Day 2 : Drive to Salleri from Kathmandu

After having your early morning breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Salleri. It is an 8-hour drive which will be accompanied by scenic views all around.

Starting from Kathmandu the vehicle moves to Dhulikhel, Khurkot, Ghurmi, and various settlements of Nepal. All the roads are accompanied by pine, rhododendrons, mountain ranges, and even rivers.

Day 3 : Drive to Thandanda from Salleri

After staying at Salleri overnight we will take the new route that leads us to Thandanda. It is a total of 6 hours drive. Being a new settlement the lodges present at Thandanda are of basic facilities.

Day 4 : Trek to Phakding

On the fourth day of the trek, the team for the Everest trek without flight will meet the normal team who took the option of flight. After trekking through Surke, Chaurikharka, Chhepung, and Nurning the team reaches to Phakding. It is there when the regular group who came through Lukla's flight meet.

Day 5 : Trek to Namche Bazar from Phakding

The biggest town in the Everest region, Namche Bazar will be the next destination for the tourist. You will trek from Phakding early in the morning cross suspension bridges, hills, river banks, villages, etc. Through the journey of reaching Namche Bazar, trekkers would pass through Benkar and Manja villages. After trekking for 7 hours we will reach Namche Bazar.

Day 6 : Acclimatization and rest at Namche

One of the most important days in Everest trek without flight is the acclimatization day. As we have trekked for the last six days, acclimatization and understanding the altitude is key. Tourists will be taken to local monasteries, schools, and Everest View Hotel. During your lunch, you will have views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Amadablam, and other mountains.

Day 7 : Trek to Tengboche from Namche

Following the early morning breakfast the trekking team moves towards Tengboche. With panoramic mountain views the journey goes uphill. Walking through the hills we will reach Tengboche. The most famous landmark of Tengboche is the Tengboche monastery. After the trek of 6 hours, you will have the option of enjoying the evening chants.

Day 8 : Trek to Dingboche from Tengboche

After staying overnight at the tea house, our journey moves to Dingboche. Passing through the rhododendron forest at Deboche village, you will reach Pangboche which is the biggest settlement of Sherpa people. After exploring the Pangboche monastery you will be trekking upwards in the shades of Everest, Lhotse, and Amadablam. Finally, you will be graced with the beautiful potato fields of Dingboche village.

Day 9 : Acclimatization day at Dingboche

The second acclimatization day in the Everest trek occurs at Dingboche. Before reaching the Everest Base camp, the acclimatization at Dingboche is focused on hiking around the valley. Climbing up the valley, tourists will have an option to view some of the 800 m mountains. The hiking is a limited one with more focus on rest.

Day 10 : Trek to Lobuche from Dingboche

After having a full day of acclimatization at Dingboche Roving Nepal Trek team moves towards Lobuche. Three hours of trek takes you to Duglha. Things get tougher from here as the air gets thinner with higher altitudes around. In the end, through 5 hours of trek, you will reach Lobuche. It is a small village with limited settlement and cold nights.

Day 11 : Trek to Everest Base Camp and Gorakshep

Finally, the day has come when the trekking team reaches Everest Base Camp. It is better to start trekking early in the morning. Interestingly the trek to Everest Base Camp isn't the toughest but it has improper ups and downs that come along the way. Day 12 : Ascending Kalapatthar for the beautiful view

We will begin the trek to Kalapatthar to have the stunning view of Mount Everest. It is one and a half hours of trek. Inorder to have the most beautiful view Roving Nepal Trek team reaches the mountaintop early in the morning. After having the stunning view we will come down to Gorakshep and hike back to Pheriche to stay overnight.

Day 13 : Trek to Namche from Pheriche

We will be leaving the Everest region slowly and steading. Coming all the way down from Pheriche we reach Phunki Thanga. After having lunch we will walk down more to reach Namche. This is quite an easy trek of 6 hours as we reach Namche and stay for the night.

Day 14 : Trek to Surke from Namche Bazar

Things start to change for the Everest trek without the Lukla flight. All the flight attendees will take the flight from Lukla. But others will trek back the same route. The target after six hours of trek will be to reach Surke. After crossing Phakding you will hardly find trekkers and you will be catching the drive route.

Day 15 : Trek to Thandanda and drive to Salleri from Surke

After a day of trekking and staying the night at Surke, we go through to Thandanda. Trekkers and porters will mark their way here.After some good hours of driving, we will reach Thandanda and later to Salleri. A total of 11 hours will be spent on the road.

Day 16 : Drive back to Kathmandu

As there are three more days for the Everest trek without the Lukla flight we will reach Kathmandu on the 16th day. After eight hours of long drive through beautiful forests, waterfalls, and scenic beauty, the trekking team will enter the capital. Interested could take the city tour or spend the evening at the hotel.

Day 17 : Departure Day

Probably one of the toughest days in the overall trek on the 17th day. Roving Nepal Trek team will bid adieu to all of its guests. A staff from the trekking agency will drop all the international guests at the international airport.
