Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

The first day of the trek is about reaching Kathmandu. A staff from Roving Nepal Trek will receive you at the airport. You will be shifted to your specific hotels after that.

Day 2 : Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Walking Distance - 8 km, Duration: 3 hours

On the second day after the early morning breakfast, we reach the airport to catch the flight to Lukla. One of the most beautiful flights will take 35 minutes. After landing and having proper rest we will trek to Phakding which is a 3-hour trek and spend the night there.

Day 3 : Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283) Walking Distance - 10 to 12 km, Duration: 6 hours

On the 3rd day, Roving Nepal Trek and the trekkers will reach Namche Bazaar. Completing the early morning breakfast we will trek towards Namche Bazaar. It is a 6-hour trek whereby we will cover 12km of distance.

Day 4 : Acclimatization Day – Hike to Everest View Hotel (3,962m/12995ft) Walking Distance - 3 to 4 km, Duration: 3 to 4 hours

As the altitude in the trek increases rapidly it is important to have the right set of acclimatization procedures. On the 4th day, we take a break at Namche Bazaar. To adjust to the high altitude we hike to Everest View Hotel.

Day 5 : Trek to Phorste Thanka (3800 m / 12465 ft) Distance – 6 to 7 km, Duration: 6 to 7 hours

As we wake up on the 5th day Roving Nepal Trek, will move towards the North from Namche as we reach Sansa. This is the perfect route towards Gokyo Valley. As we trek forward trekkers will have the opportunity to view  Cholaste, Tawache, Ama Dablam, and many more.

Day 6 : Trek to Machhermo (4400m/14432ft) Walking Distance – 10 km, Duration: 6-7 hours

As we start the trek early in the morning, it will take 5 hours to reach Macchermo, After passing Dole village you will come through dense pine forests, and rhododendron trees and reach Macchermo. We will be staying at the teahouse.

Day 7 : Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4700m/15416ft) Walking Distance – 7 km, Duration: 4-5 hours

Finally, the day has arrived. On the 7th day, we will reach Gokyo Lake which is at an altitude of 4700m. After climbing the edge for the fantastic view you will peek towards Cho Oyu. As you complete the 5-hour trek you will reach Gokyo Lake where we spend the night.


Day 8 : Hike to fifth Lake (4980 m/ 16335 ft) Walking Distance – 11 km, Duration: 6 to 7 hours

There are five beautiful lakes at Gokyo and we embrace them one after the other. On the 8th day, we will be reaching the fifth lake after crossing through the Fourth Lake which is Thonak Tse in the map.

After trekking for some time we will be standing right beside Ngozumba Tse Lake which is the fifth lake. From here trekkers will get beautiful views of Mt Everest, Mt Makalu, Mt Cho Oyu, and Gyachung Kang.

Day 9 : Hike to Gokyo Ri – Back to Gokyo Village then Lukla, 3 hours hike and 15 min. Heli Ride to Lukla

As we complete reaching the 5th lake on the 8th day, we will be heading towards, Gokyo Ri early in the morning. Gokyo Ri is situated at an altitude of 5360m which mind-blowing views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Tawache, Cholaste, etc. Returning back we will be going to Gokyo village and get on the helicopter to reach Lukla.

Day 10 : Fly to Kathmandu (30-minutes) then transfer to Hotel

As we spend the night at Lukla it is critical to return to the capital. To achieve that we will be getting on a 30-minute flight to Kathmandu and transfer into the hotel as we reach the capital.

Day 11 : Departure

On the final day of the trek, we will be saying goodbye to everyone involved in the trek. The departure day is the toughest but we promise to meet again. A member from Roving Nepal Trek will assist the tourist to the airport.
